About

Hi, I'm Pooventhan.

I'm a software engineer based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I've been doing this for more than 12 years, working across backend development and testing.

I started out in test automation and CI/CD, and over time I moved into backend work — first with C#, and these days mostly Java and Spring Boot. Most of my time now goes into building and improving microservices on Google Cloud. Coming from a testing background changed how I build things. I ask early whether something will hold up and how I'll test it, instead of leaving that to the end.

I enjoy the quiet parts of the job that not everyone notices. Finding out why something is slow, making a shaky system reliable again, or speeding up a query that keeps dragging. I also like helping my team get better, whether that means setting up automation or just sharing what I've picked up over the years.
